Privacy policy
Winghug is a private AI wingman for dating. Privacy is the product, so this page says plainly what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to make us delete it.
Who we are
Winghug is operated by Moat Venture Pte Ltd (UEN 202638305N), Singapore. In this policy, “Winghug”, “we” and “us” mean that company. We handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). For any privacy question or request, including to reach our Data Protection Officer (Darius Cheung), email hello@winghug.com.
Who Winghug is for
Winghug is only for people aged 21 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
What we collect now: the waitlist
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- your first name and email address;
- your gender, the gender(s) you are interested in, and your age range;
- your WhatsApp number, if you choose to give it;
- the time you signed up, and your consent to this policy.
We use this only to run the waitlist: to contact you when your group opens, to plan balanced groups, and to send occasional updates about Winghug's launch. You can ask us to stop at any time. We do not store your IP address with your signup. Our servers may briefly hold standard technical logs for security, and we use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count visits to this site.
What we will collect once you use Winghug
When the service opens and you choose to use it, Winghug will also process:
- Your chats with Winghug, on the web or WhatsApp, including what you tell it about yourself and what you are looking for.
- Calendar free/busy times, if you connect a calendar, so we can suggest date slots. We only need whether you are free, not what your events are.
- Photos you upload for your match card.
- Match activity: who you were matched with, whether you accepted, date bookings, and your feedback after a date.
- Identity verification, such as a Singpass check, when we introduce it. We would keep the result (for example, that you are verified and over 21), not more than we need.
- A personal AI agent, if you choose to connect one later. This is optional and only shares what you allow.
Your private vault and your match card
Everything Winghug learns about you sits in two very different places:
- Your private vault holds everything you tell Winghug. Other members never see it. Winghug uses it to judge who might fit you.
- Your match card is a short, safe summary and 1 or 2 photos. It is shown only to a person you have been matched with, and only once you are both matched. There are no public profiles, no search and no browsing.
When your wingman talks to another member's wingman, each one only shares what its owner has allowed, through fixed fields rather than free text from your vault. You approve every introduction.
AI processing
Winghug uses large language models from third-party AI model providers to understand your chats, screen possible matches and write match cards. Your data is sent to these providers only to produce Winghug's responses. We only use providers whose business terms do not allow them to train their models on that data. In the early months, a small number of people on our team review matches before they are sent, to check the AI's work. They are bound by confidentiality.
Who else we share data with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- service providers who run Winghug for us, such as cloud hosting and storage, email and messaging, analytics and AI model providers, each only for that purpose;
- your matches, limited to your match card as described above;
- authorities, where the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Singapore. Where they do, we take steps required by the PDPA to make sure your data gets a comparable standard of protection.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist details: until you join, ask us to delete them, or we stop running the waitlist.
- Account data, chats and match history: while your account is open. When you close it, we delete it within 30 days, except what we must keep by law or to deal with a safety report.
- Backups roll over and are cleared on a fixed cycle.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted. Email hello@winghug.com from the address you signed up with. We will reply within 30 days. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer match you.
Keeping it safe
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and keep vault data separate from what other members can see. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the PDPC as the law requires.
Changes
This is a draft for our pre-launch waitlist. We will update it before Winghug opens, and we will tell waitlist members about important changes by email.
